Sigg Has Restocked

A while back, I’d say late last year, everyone was talking about how bottles that had BPA were no longer accepted when it came to water bottles. At the time Nalgene had to take a hit over that, as most all of their bottles contained what nobody wanted. From there, Sigg was selling out and you most of their bottles were not available. But that is not the case now. Sigg has a decent selection out now, and even though they start around $18, I think it’s well worth it if you are going to be traveling and dislike trashing plastic every day.

“Filter For Good” Nalgene Bottle

A couple bits of news from Nalgene. The first is that they decided to slowly halt production on their original polycarbonate bottles that they’ve been making for years due to the BPA scare. The second is that they teamed up with Brita and FilterForGood.com. Another one of those silly “green” marketing things. Attempting to reduce water bottle waste…by…purchasing…a new “reusable” water bottle. If you can’t tell, I’m just sick of corporations using the green thing to brand their products. I’ve got nothing against environmentalism.

Swiss Engineered Water Bottles. SIGG is the producer of some of the best water bottles for travel…or just daily life. Their bottles are designed to be lightweight, very strong, and are lined with a special coating to make it very easy to clean and safe to reuse. All in all, the perfect water bottle. After that, the company seems to be on a mission to run environmentally unfriendly plastic water bottles out of production. The cost may seem high at first $19-$21, but considering the strong design and your choice of bottle cap, it’s very reasonable.

Ethos Water…tagline….”Helping Children get Clean Water.” This seems to be a pretty common theme among businesses now. Helping causes around the world and putting out a nice flash website and strong marketing campaign. The main business behind Ethos water is Starbucks. They are also partnered with PepsiCo for distribution purposes. The website will tell you they’ve reached 6.2 million of their 10 million dollar goal. All this by only donating .05 cents for every bottle purchased. Hmm…maybe should have gone for the big dime and you could have reached your goal. Anyways, they give the money to previously established relief organizations. If you wanted to know that.
